    Need help with adding extra divs to current layout

    Im not going to lie. The original div layouts were pulled from the internet, but after playing with the html and css. Currently in the upper image I have no div that allows me to put data into the white area of the page. I also attached a powerpoint image of what I am trying to go after. I want to be able to put little mini divs inside of the white area on the upper page.

    I posted both the html and css below. Im trying to learn so if you could please explain how it works or the thought process I would appreciate it. The mini divs will be acting as a document repository per-say.

    Code:
    <!doctype html>
    <html>
    <head>
    	<title>TEST</title>
    	<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    	<link href="logUnit.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" />
    </head>
    <body>
    	<div class="content">
    		<div class="top_block Header">
    			<div class="content">
    			<img class="align-left" src="images/cehc.png"></img>
    			<img class="align-right" src="images/army.png"></img>
    			</div>
    		</div>
    		<div class="background leftLinks">
    		</div>
    		<div class="left_block leftLinks">
    			<div class="content">

    				<ul>
    					<li><a href="main.html">Main Page</a><li>
    					<li><a href="log.html">Log Unit</a><li>
    					<li><a href="mp.html">Military Police</a><li>
    					<li><a href="engineers.html">Engineers</a><li>
    				</ul>

    			</div>
    		</div>
    		<div class="bottom_block footer">
    			<div class="content">

    Wow! What great help!! I am so glad someone like you was here to help him figure that out.

    OP, i would recommend taking the time to actually learn HTML and Css. Look up Codecademy.com and do their course on it.
