BlueGryphon - what to use for DreamWeaver type templates?

I've been using a very old 1990s DreamWeaver for years, but now I think I need to get a bit more modern.

BlueGryphon seems good, but it lacks what DreamWeaver calls templates, i.e. parts of the HTML in the body were fixed in the template and you based new pages on templates. Then when you changed the template (color or contents of a side bar for example) DreamWeaver would update all pages which used that template (while keeping the content of the pages the same).

CSS is only a partial answer because, unless I'm mistaken (possible), CSS cannot include the contents of a side bar (for example)

So how do people using BlueGryphon overcome the obstacle of changing, say, the side bar contents of a 100 page site?

I've seen it suggested that I save the home page with a different name every time I create a new page, but that will only show changes in the home page sidebar with new pages, the old pages will have the old side bar.

No, it cannot. It's not meant to. CSS is meant for styling. HTML is meant for markup.

As Ron and I pointed out in the other thread that you started, you're looking for a server-side include. I suggest you keep it as simple as possible and use an .shtml include for now.
