OK, I've designed a few sites in my time and one thing that ALWAYS bugs me is CSS with browsers other than IE.

I currently host a site (or two) and I use CSS files to control the look of the pages especially by using a 'watermark' feature and some table layout stuff. Now this watermark shows up great in IE, but not at all in Mozilla or Opera. Also some of the formatting gets screwed around under Mozilla.

    Any helpful hints?

Use a server side code to determine the user's browser and then load the appropriate stylesheet that is compatible with it.

Going with JR's suggestion will require you to maintain different CSS files which can become very cumbersome over time.

Your best bet is to (1) write css that works in all browsers and abandon the ideas and/or code that does not, and (2) ask specific questions about your problematic CSS to see if someone knows a universal alternative.

Or you could always do both JR's idea and ae86's idea and familiarize yourself a bit more with all of CSS instead of just certain bits of it.

How do you propose to do both? Either you use separate CSS files or you don't.
