    Question Building an email subscribe

    I am working on building an email subscribe thing for my site and am have no clue how to make it work past making it look right.

    This is my code, I would love if someone could either explain how to fix it or could fix it and explain what they did.

    Code:
    <div class="col-md-4 col-sm-8 col-sm-offset-2 col-md-offset-0">
                            <h6 class="mtn">SUBSCRIBE</h6>
                            <div class="input-group">
                                <input type="email" class="form-control inp-rounded" placeholder="Enter your email id">
                                <span class="input-group-btn">
                                    <button class="btn se-btn btn-rounded" type="button">Subscribe!</button>
                                </span> <!-- end input-group-btn -->
                            </div><!-- end input-group -->
                        <!--    <p class="text-center text-muted">We don't spam!</p> -->
                        </div>
                    </div> <!-- end row -->

    www.constantcontact.com <-- link it to that. One of my clients uses it for a list manager and it works extremely well.

    Thanks I'll check it out. I would like to do it on my own though for the learning experience as I will be needing quite a bit more of forms and submitting throughout this project and it will save me from spamming here with constant questions.

    You could use a PHP script and have the results stored to a database. The problem with that is that you're going to get into things such as opt-in, having an opt-out mechanism, etc. As a learning experience, it may or may not be a little much. It's a grey area, and it's ultimately individual (i.e. about you).

    Okay so maybe the subscription is a bad place to start, I'll look more into the service you linked to. Could you still explain or give me resources that explain how to make html forms useful? Like put info into a database or pull from a database, how to only submit data to database when the submit button is clicked, how to have data auto save to database ect.

    That really depends on which language(s)/framework(s) you want to use.

    Here's an example using ASP.net. Exact code steps/instructions will vary.
