    Adding play/pause button to my scrolling marquee

    Hello I have a vertical scrolling marquee which has names...
    How can I add a small play and pause button to it... Thank you. So far I have ...
    Code:
    <div>
        <center><img src="/images/memoriam.gif" alt="In Memoriam" border="0" align="middle"></center>
    <marquee onMouseOver="this.scrollAmount=0" onMouseOut="this.scrollAmount=2"bgcolor="#ffffff" scrollamount="2" direction="up" loop="true" height="400" style="left:1px;top:0px;width:100%" >
    <center>
    <img src="images/character.gif" alt="character" border="0" align="center"><p>
    <p>John Michael Gerard Ahern</p> <p>
    Sarah Margaret Aicher</p> <p>
    John David Akerstrom</p> <p>
    Ronald Ely Alexander</p> <p>
    </center>
    </marquee>
    </div>

    I have used and I've seen other people use this.stop(); and this.start();

    I just realize something. The play and pause button would need to be in the same marquee forward to work with "the this.anything();" what you need to do use the assign a name or ID to the marquee.

    I.E.: <marquee name="m1" if="m1">

    Then use the document.getElementByID('m1').stop;

    Or if you want to use name you can replace Id with Name.

    Please note that is case sensitive. I'm on my phone so I may not have the correct syntax it's been years since I wrote something like that but that should get you going. You were also just use .start instead of .stop for the play button.

    Also if you choose to you can change the scroll amount using the same command.

    Sorry I wasn't paying attention before I was in a hurry. This time I actually noticed what was going on.
