Using your FTP Client, set the permissions on the following folders to 777 ( rwx, rwx, rwx )

    Is this possible?

Yes, yes it is. You need to find an option like CHMOD or Unix commands - this way you will be able to edit the permissions. Which FTP client are you using?

I'm not sure how dreamweaver works, but I use cofee cup direct ftp and all I have to do is right-click on the folder, click "action", "permissions", then set the permsissions. Perhaps dreamweavers works in a similar manner?

You should also make sure that you are not on a Windows based server. Windows does not support CHMODing and is not necessary on Windows.

Not that I can find. Personally, I use SmartFTP to manually FTP things, and to change permissions.
