    Does anyone know how to crea .htaccess files? if so please point me to a tutorial website or tell me how on these forums, please.

    Thank You.

    P.S dont just tell me to use a CP like cpanel to do it beacsue i dont use one its for my webserver to protect a directory.

    Just open up notepad, add the codes you want, and save it as .htaccess

    This code will for example define the 404 page:
    ErrorDocument 404 http://www.domain.com/404.html

    WDF has a .htaccess file generator: go to the homepage, and there's a dropdown that says "Web Design Tools" in the tab above the forum list. It pops up a window, so disable your popup killer, and create a way!

    Isn't htaccess the same thing as a password protected directory? Why can't you just go into control panel and set a password for the directory?
