On a dropdown of a form, is there a way to hold more than one value in the dropdown? I.E. they pick one, and the form transmits 2 values?

I have a dropdown of some stuff from a database. The user sees a list of names in the dropdown list. The value passed when you hit submit is the corresponding ID number. Problem is, on the confirmation page, I'll need both the name and the ID value, I'd rather not hit the DB again on the confirmation page if I don't need to.
