I have a quiz program and a page on my website with user submitted quizzes.

    http://www.vellosoft.com/dloads/list.html

With my previous web host, every thing was cool with the page, a user would click on the links and IE would pop up the File Download / Save As dialog.

Well, I switched hosts and now when a user clicks on a link, the file displays in the browser! Can anyone help me figure out how to specify to the browser not to display the contents of the file but instead, download it like it used to with my old web host.

In most browsers this is exsactly what occurs, actualy. It is strange that just putting that link ever worked. If memory serves (which I am not sure it does) you need to put
    Code:
    <a href="http://ftp.vellosoft.com/dloads/list.html>Link text</a>
note: For anyone who does not have a page yet, FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, and it is how you upload a page.
No one told me that when I was starting out

That was a typo, I ment to write
    Code:
    <a href="ftp://ftp.vellosoft.com/dloads/list.html>Link text</a>
Sorry about that before, but that should be right. If it doesn't work, I am lost. Used to know how to do that too . . .

What program do you use for zipped files, which is making them display in the browser? In IE and Firebird, clicking on the links prompts me to save the files.

look at the link. It is not a *.zip, it is a *.html, so it is not zipped at all.

I clicked on your link and the page loaded. Clicking on the links on the download page, I was prompted to save them. Do you want the list to be downloadable, or the files on the download page?
