    Ting-a-ling,

    I have a small but annoying problem with a CSS menu system I am developing for a client, and any help would be gratefully received.

    Here's the offending menu: http://www.foreverchanges.com/abbey

    Here's the problem: It looks fine in Opera/Moz/Netscape. For some reason, IE5.5 is putting about 15 pixels of white-space on the left hand side of the menu. But why?

    I've tried taking the whitespace out between html elements, but no joy.

    The menu should be flush with the green border.

    Only the first item of the menu works, but it'll give you an idea of what I'm trying to achieve. The css code is available on the menu page.

    Cheers,

    Stuart

    I presume explorer. I checked your CSS file, and can't seem to find any problems with it (though don't take my word for it).

    Ta

    karinne,

    Thanks for replying. Both are correct (although I know there's a slight difference in the two menus). The real problem is with IE5.5 - it puts about 15px of whitespace on the left hand side of the menu.

    Cheers,
    Stuart

    Hello again,

    Here's the image a seen through IE5.5 - its the 15px of whitespace on the left handside of the menu that's causing the headache.

    Thanks for looking into this!

    Cheers,
    Stuart

    Ta for replying Karinne. The div is missing, but the problem still occurs. Curses!

    ok but the proble i think is with that missing div.

    if you create it an put

    Code:
    #menu {
      margin: 0;
      padding: 0;
    }
    i have no way of checking since i've got IE6, but try that?
