    Hey guys,
    So, for my site, I'd like a feedback form. I don't have any knowledge of CGI or PHP (Yet!), so I need a way to do it with HTML or JavaScript, but I haven't been able to pull it off either way.

    I was using this code:

    <FORM action="mailto:you@yourdomain.com">
    Name: <INPUT name="Name" value="" size="10"><BR>
    Email: <INPUT name="Email" value="" size="10"><BR>
    <CENTER><INPUT type="submit"></CENTER>
    </FORM>

    But the problem with that is, it always opens (At least, for me) Outlook Express or whatever, instead of emailing me the contents of the form.

    So, any suggestions?

    Thanks.
    -Eric N.

    You can't email a form with HTML or Javascript. HTML can't execute a command like emailing a form. It can open Outlook, but if you want to process and send information, you'll need to use PHP, ASP, or CGI. JS and HTML won't do it.

    www.hotscripts.com is a good place to look for prewritten scripts. Using PHP to email a form is very simple, there's a tutorial on it in the Tutorials forum here on WDF.

    E-mail me at kaumil.patel@hostingplex.com, I can help you make that form work with php... your host must support the mail() function though.

    There are also a lot of free form-to-mail services out there . . . not as "pro" though.

    To send Form Data via E-mail, you use code like this,

    <FORM METHOD=POST ENCTYPE="text/plain" ACTION="mailto:you@yourdomain.com>
    First Name: <input name="First Name" type="text" id="First Name"><br>
    Last Name: <input name="Last Name" type="text" id="Last Name">
    <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit">
    </FORM>

    This will send from data via the users e-mail client. And in order for the form to be sent, the user will have to press SEND AND RECIEVE using their email client.

    You can do it with PHP relatively easily. I didn't know PHP and I was able to get it working within a couple hours. There are plenty of resources for it.
