    How would you align a whole thing in the center? In tables, the equivalent would be <table align="center"> . What would I do for the same effect in CSS?

    if you want the table centered in the middle of the page then use

    table {
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: auto;
    }

    if you want text to be centered inside the table use
    table {
    text-align: center;
    }

    I wouldn't do that.

    Use divs if you don't want to use tables.

    If you use tables don't put a text-aling under every table cell..

    td.class {
    blah;
    }

    Would work much better.
