    I'm working on a project involving offline forms that needs to be filled up online, and printed in their original form. I figured that I can convert thoese Word doc forms into HTML manually (i.e. by re-creating them with HTML and CSS). Problem is, when printed, the output does not match the on-screen version perfectly. See for yourself:

    Code:
    <!doctype html public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Test</title>
    <style type="text/css" media="all">
    table, body {font-family:Arial; font-size:10pt; border-color:#000000"}
    </style>
    </head>

    <body><center>
    <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="487" height="734">
    	<tr>
    		<td valign="top">
    		<table border="1" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" width="100%" bordercolor="#000000">
    			<tr align="center" valign="top">
    				<td colspan="3" height="36" bgcolor="#E5E5E5"><b>PERSONAL DETAILS</b></td>
    			</tr>
    			<tr bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="top">
    				<td colspan="3" height="27">Name  (in capital letters)</td>
    			</tr>
    			<tr bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="top">
    				<td colspan="2" width="321" height="54">Permanent Address</td>
    				<td rowspan="2" width="166">
    				<table border="0" width="100%" height="122">
    					<tr>
    						<td>Tel:</td><td></td>
    					</tr>
    					<tr>
    						<td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td>
    					</tr>
    					<tr>
    						<td>Mobile:</td><td></td>
    					</tr>
    					<tr>
    						<td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td>
    					</tr>
    					<tr>
    						<td>Email:</td><td></td>
    					</tr>
    					<tr>
    						<td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td>
    					</tr>
    					</table>

    				</td>
    			</tr>
    			<tr bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="top">
    				<td colspan="2" height="65">Correspondence Address:</td>
    			</tr>
    			<tr bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="top">
    				<td width="170" height="23">Date of Birth</td>
    				<td width="151" height="23">Age</td>
    				<td>Race</td>
    			</tr>
    			<tr bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="top">
    				<td width="170" height="23">*Gender Man / Woman</td>
    				<td width="151" height="23">Nationality</td>
    				<td>Religion</td>
    			</tr>
    			<tr bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="top">
    				<td colspan="2" height="23px">Passport No.</td>
    				<td>*Status: Bujang/Berkahwin</td>
    			</tr>
    		</table>

    		</td>
    	</tr>
    </table>
    </center>

    </body>
    </html>
    Can anyone help me. I need to get the printed version exactly as the html output. Thanks.

    create a print media stylesheet. You can specify your page to print differnetly, or exactly how you want it vs how it is displayed on screen.

    For a quick example, go to print preview of an article at www.alistapart.com to see what I mean.

    That'll take way too long, as everything needs to be done from scratch. I'm going to take that route for future projects, but I need an immediate solution now. Using the coding earlier, below is the output on the browser. But when printed or converted to pdf, the gray background color was not included. Any suggestions?
