    I have this error on all of my pages,
    (Error: Unable to read footer file. )
    I have tried doing very basic html pages too but the error appears every time. I have tried an include footer file but the error message just moves to a different place on the page. My host says it is nothing to do with them, I have put other sites up before with nothing different, does anyone know what i am doing wrong this time?
    Very stuck and now annoyed
    Jen

    The following is the complete code for one of my pages but even when I have tried the most basic of pages (just an image on) I still get the same error - Error: Unable to read footer file.

    var year = today.getYear()

    todayStr += ", " + year

    Anhydrobiotic engineering aims to confer a high degree of

    organisms
    and cells by adopting the strategies of anhydrobiosis. Nonreducing
    disaccharides such as trehalose and sucrose are thought to
    play a pivotal role in resistance to desiccation stress in
    many microorganisms, invertebrates, and plants, and in vitro
    trehalose is known to confer stability on dried biomolecules
    and biomembranes. We have therefore tested the hypothesis
    that intracellular trehalose (or a similar molecule) may be
    not only necessary for anhydrobiosis but also sufficient.
    </p>
    <p><font color="#0099FF">Cages</font><br>
    High concentrations of trehalose were produced in bacteria
    by osmotic preconditioning, and in mammalian cells by genetic
    engineering, but in neither system was desiccation tolerance
    similar to that seen in anhydrobiotic organisms, suggesting
    that trehalose alone is not sufficient for anhydrobiosis.
    In Escherichia coli such desiccation tolerance was achievable,
    but only when bacteria were dried in the presence of both
    extracellular trehalose and intracellular trehalose. In mouse
    L cells, improved osmotolerance was observed with up to 100
    mM intracellular trehalose, but desiccation was invariably
    lethal even with extracellular trehalose present. </p>
    <p><font color="#0099FF">Spikes</font><br>
    We conclude that anhydrobiotic engineering of at least some
    microorganisms is achievable with present technology, but
    that further advances are needed for similar desiccation tolerance
    of mammalian cells. Copyright 2001 Elsevier Science (USA).</p>

    Right, I don't see anything. If this is a free host I bet you that it's their fault (trying to add some ad code and whatnot).

    there is no code in this file now or any other that includes the file, there is no php or ssi. It is just basic stuff, as for it being a free host, it isn't, and I have support for cf, asp and php so there should be no problem there. I will get in touch with my host again. Thanks
