in the current website im working on i want to try to place text over a flash movie. The flash movie acts as a background for the text. ive looked at w3's CSS definiations and could not find anything there.

so impossible or have i been looking in the wrong place ?

    It's possible.
You could put the text in a div and use CSS absolute positioning to position it over the text.

    PHP Code:
    <div style="position: absolute; top: 50px; left: 150px;">Text over flash</div
All you would have to do is adjust the pixel coordinates so the text is positioned right.
