    www.favicon.com

    It is called a 'favicon', and it is a 16px by 16px .ico file

    I've looked at that thread, and I have intended that if there is a "favicon.ico" file on the same folder as the document, it's used automatically. (It must be named favicon.ico)
    Maybe I'm wrong...

    It doesn't necessarily have to be in the same folder as the document; you'll just have to specify its location instead (absolute URL vs relative)... For instance, using the coding below on each page's HEAD section will call up the icon. Or, just post the coding on the entry/index page to save you some trouble, especially if your site's got tons of pages for you to insert that line onto.

    Code:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.wherever.com/favicon.ico" />

    2 questions:

    xarst:
    (It must be named favicon.ico)
    is this true?

    also, the first time i visit my page, any page, i see the favicon, but when i navigate away from that page to a different page on the same site, the favicon disappears. whats up with that?

    maybe a few people could test it out here: http://koreaontherocks.com

    thanks
    eric

    Code:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.wherever.com/favicon.ico" />
    This code must be placed in the HEAD tag of any pages you want the icon to be shown on , but it doesn't have to be named favicon.ico if you are using the <link rel> tag.

    It works for me on all the main pages of your website .
