    This is no biggy but you knwo when you're on a site without enough content to fill the screen - there are no scrollbars? Then a scrollbar appears when you go to a page that does and your whole layout shifts to the left? (or right, if you have a dodgy computer).

    Is there a way to make it so the scollbar is there all the time? E.g., if you have a <textarea> tag, there is a scrollbar there even with nothing in (in ff anyway) but it's greyed out.

    I want this effect on the whole page.

    As I said, its no big deal, and it might be Javascript, dunno, it would just look better to have a consistent page rather than it jumping around as you progress.

    Thanks.

    I'm not 100% on this, but I believe you can add to your CSS
    Code:
    body {
    overflow: scroll;
    }
    a scrollbar will appear always. If I am wrong, you could also try adding to your <body> tag "scroll="yes"".
    Code:
    <body scroll="yes">
    Also, you could just give your page thre resizing it needs that even devoid of info, a scollbar appears, but it will prolly look bad when you do this.
    Whoth steps forth to mock the teal? Whom couldst say a color superior!

    the first.

    the second one worked but only in IE. Im not using them though beacsuue the navigation on the right of my sites pages makes them scroll anyway on every page, no matter how small the content is.
