    Hello people,

    i am wrkin on transformin my site into a css version.
    there is a LOT, of nesting of DIV tags, much more that my current HTML version.

    my question by n large is -
    does multiple levels of nesting using divs affect the site perfomance??

    if yes, in what all ways and how do i avoid nesting??
    the site i manage is ,

    pls suggest,

    With your current layout you should need almost no nesting of divs. The furthest I can see is one two levels:
    <div id="wrapper">
    <div id="content">
    <div class="leftcolumn">
    <div class="middlecolumn">
    <div class="rightcolumn">

    I think you should look at how to more accurately put together CSS positioned sites. Look at the examples at,
