Wrap everything in a div that's the width of the image in the back with a background: url() for that image.
Then, in that div, write a new one that is the width you desire for the white box and put content in that.
float your text right (render it first also)
let the menu flow on the lleft.
Javascript is supposed to compliment your site, not be a requirement.
Suggestion: I'm going to be honest with you- learn a litte more before you start a design company. But! At least you are sticking to css and things that matter, which is a great start.
