    Hello,

I've been doing basic html/css for a few years now, but rarely dabble with Javascript. I'm working on the navigation for a new site of mine, and I'm TOTALLY STUCK.

I want two effects for the nav: 1) a rollover image, and 2) the appearance of a sub-navigation bar when a button appears.

I've used Dreamweaver's built in rollover image javascript tool to do the rollover, and I found a script on a forum that makes my sub nav appear...

    THEY JUST DON'T WORK TOGETHER.

I can't figure it out. I've got the working rollover images on this page: http://www.digitallifepreserver.com/index_new.html

and I've got the working sub nav (or basically) on this page:
    http://www.digitallifepreserver.com/Untitled-1.html

I'm sure this is something small I'm overlooking. All the scripts are embedding in the source of the page.

ANYONE THAT CAN LEND A GUIDING HAND WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

    Yours,
    Nick

Eek! Two things come to mind:

1- Any reason you don't use CSS ?
2- Dreamweaver code is generally bloated, and does not always work well with others.

But, if you want to continue this way, I would work backwards... First implement the subnav, and then go back and put in the image swap.

I have an eye for detail like you'd never believe.

    Options:

    1. Use CSS which is much more reliable. CSS Play has a gazillion of these.

    2. Pick up a javascript library like jQuery and look through their plugin galleries - most have some sort (or many) of scripts that do what you want. And even if they don't, they should make your work a lot easier.
Note on code: If I give code, please note that it is simply sample code to demonstrate an effect. It is not meant to be used as-is; that is the programmer's job. I am not responsible to give you support or be held liable for anything that happens when using my code.
