Good afternoon to all. I am working on a website for a music store I recently became a member of. I am so-so with web design, and am having an issue I can't work past. Basically, the left navigation menu of the site is set to expand suubcategories when you click on a main category, then if you choose a different main category, it should collapse the first one, then open the second one instead. The problem I'm having is that as you change pages on the site, the menu expands all of the categories, then collapses them... causing a flicker effect I am not pleased with. What I would like to happen is make the menu stay exactly where it was prior to changing pages without it reloading any information. Or at the very least, I would like it to just collapse everything when the next page loads. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I think that Javascript loads after the entire page has finished. So, using JavaScript, the menus will flicker (unless you use document.write, which loads as the page is loading). So, either use document.write to load your menus, or use a server-side scripting language to load the menus without javascript.
