    Hello,

    I was working on a version of my drop down menu
    http://www.webdesignforums.net/showthread.php?t=35011

    I've simplified that so my the drop down menu is part of a sub menu.
    This was based on the original posting
    http://www.webdesignforums.net/javas...els_30199.html
    which used blobs as the separators between menus, I've changed these to |, but I cannot work out where the blobs have come from in my drop down menu:

    many many thanks

    :-)

    Margaret, I think you meant "bullets"? Not sure what blobs are in this context.

    Yes, keep in mind that unordered lists always default to having bullets in them unless you explicitly turn them off. Similarly, they default to having padding or margins, depending on what browser you're looking at them in, so it's usually a good idea to zero out both padding and margins on both uls and lis before using a list for things like menus.

    to quantify Shadow's post:

    Code:
    ul.menu {
        list-style: none;
        padding: 0;
        margin: 0;
    }
    ul.menu li {
        list-style: none;
        padding: 0;
        margin: 0;
        display: inline; /* this is so they will display one after another - you can also use float: left to accomplish something similar */
    }
