    Sorry, I finally thought of the words to search for on google hehe. Here's the information if anybody else needed.

    Source: JavaScript Kit

    Simply insert the following into the <HEAD> section of your page:

    Code:
    <script>

    //Hide status bar msg II script- by javascriptkit.com
    //Visit JavaScript Kit (http://javascriptkit.com) for script
    //Credit must stay intact for use

    function hidestatus(){
    window.status=''
    return true
    }

    if (document.layers)
    document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEOVER | Event.MOUSEOUT)

    document.onmouseover=hidestatus
    document.onmouseout=hidestatus
    </script>

    This an extremely bad idea for usability, BTW. The majority of users expect a URL to show up in the status bar; I know I always do.

    Just so you know, I completely agree with filburt. I NEVER click a link that I don't know the url to. Someone can easily put a link that just says link And hide the real use of it... now, granted they could rename the actual url, but 99% of the time people are too stupid to do that My theory: don't @%@# with the browser - it just pisses people off.

    You could always hide the statusbar altogether by doing a popup window (or modalDialog) for your site :-P

    If you do that, I'll find where you live...
