I have been programming for a while now and learning the languages and practicing. But lately i wanted to really start implementing my knowledge. I am well rounded with HTML and CSS, however i still prefer HTML 4 and CSS 2.0, since it results in better browser compability. With this being said, how do you guys proceed with your site design?? I was thinking to make a very well functional site with HTML, CSS, and PHP for form validation, then after the site is programmed, designed and well operational, then scripting the Javascript, AJAX or jQuery. What do you guys do??

My overall process for site design is:
    1. Sitemap
    2. Wireframe
    3. Sketch Mockup (photoshop and fireworks)
    4. code html and css

Mine's actually pretty similar, except that I work the jQuery and AJAX in on a page-by-page basis. I get the page working without Javascript, and then I insert it in.
