    so the slider is working but for some strange reason down the left hand side of the page its seems to be showing the image going down the way

    if i would you i would declare your margin and padding, i do not see it. Tip of the wise, to have a bullet proof site you must add the extra code. The more code you add for size, location, padding, margin, position, etc etc. it will help you with problems like this. now thats just by glancing at all your code and jpeg, you also may want to reference the tutorial.
