    perhaps if you could post the code ??? but there are many ways to accomplish what you are asking... some with JS... some with just CSS ???

    an example of the code(s) you are using might help

    here is the main code, that is the program.. everything is pointing to the appropriate directories, the folders are even loaded to my host

    <script type="text/javascript" src="lightbox2/js/prototype.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="lightbox2/js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects,builder"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="lightbox2/js/lightbox.js"></script>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="lightbox2/css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />

    that is placed in the HEAD section (which the instructions say)

    i've done, and redone it so many times, changing the folder location, deleting the old ones, even watched a youtube video and followed the instructions exactly, and still to no avail.. i dont know why, and all the permissions are set right..

    what about the "code" in the actual page that is calling "these" includes ????

    just linking the code is not going to do anything, but load it into a users memory..... waiting from a call from the page...

    I'm not sure what you mean, but what I had to input was this as the program...

    <script type="text/javascript" src="lightbox2/js/prototype.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="lightbox2/js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects,builder"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="lightbox2/js/lightbox.js"></script>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="lightbox2/css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />

    and to link it to a picture, was this.

    <a href="images/MCsquare.jpg" title="my caption" target="_self" rel="lightbox"><img src="images/MCsquare1.jpg" width="150" height="126" /></a>

    that's the only info that I had to paste into the code. When I do "preview in browser" it works fine, when I put dreamweaver in live view it works fine, but when I upload it and have it online it doesnt work, sometimes it'll open in a seperate window, and sometimes it just wont work
