    Hi, erm. I am a complete beginner at javascript so I found this place.

    I need a very simple RSS reader. I simply want to add in to a table on a webpage so that it will show the titles & dates off the feed but no discription or images.
    I have no server access so am having problems finding out how to do it.

    Who's your host? There are server-side feed readers you can make for just about every programming language, so as soon as you can figure out your host and what they offer, you can probably solve this a whole lot easier.

    (I'm assuming that by "server access", you mean "access to the server containing the RSS feed.")

    I made a rookie mistake and made the website/forum with a free hosting service forumotion. Basically I have a control panel but I can only use things like Javascript, jquery, css and html. I can access the page the feed shows on and that has worked for some rss reader generators I have found but I have found them near impossible to intergrate and rather ugly as they do not match the design of my site.

    Not sure if you need any more info if you do let me know and I'll try to find it.

    So are you providing the information for the feed ? Or are your trying to pull a feed from somewhere else and display it on your site ?

    Ok. The feed is here. http://www.esperyance.com/feed/

    And that is the only info I have. If its not possible let me know. I am starting to really hate my host.

    This looks like a RSS feed already... but if you're calling it from the browser as a .php file... it's going to display as text...

    have you tried renaming the feed with a .rss extension ? and see what happens... typically if there is an error in your XML syntax... the browser will tell you

    I stated above that I can't get into the database. I can't change anything. I think I am just going to change hosts.

    what is the file name and extension that displays that ???? I'm thinking it's as simple as renaming the file with a different extension ???

    extension on the current file is "PHP"... it will always look that way... as the server engine is expecting scripting language and text...

    rename the file to index.rss ...

    Try this code:

    <script language="JavaScript" src="http://landmark-project.com/feed2js/...n=y&amp;desc=1" type="text/javascript"></script>

    <noscript>
    <a href="http://landmark-project.com/feed2js/...c=1&amp;html=y">View RSS feed</a>
    </noscript>
