Not sure exactly what board to fit this in, but whatever.

Currently I'm using Javascript to generate a day counter for my title.

as in, "Hello There - Day 23". And the number goes up each day, etc, according to the javascript.

Now, I realize putting javascript, especially constantly modifying javascript in my title bar may not be ideal for search engines or things. But currently, searching my site on google, it takes the static part, the "Hello There", and presents it as the title, so I'd assume that part's being read. It's kind of odd it ignores the "- Day" part, but I dunno.

When the javascript is totally disabled though it doesn't even show up as "Hello There", just the domain address.

But ignoring all that, I want to know if I can use noscript tags and specify a title used when javascript isn't read. So have an alternate noscript title that would just say "Hello There". It seems to work testing it (at least on Chrome, initially). But what I really want to know is if it's a bad idea in general to have two title tags, even if they specify partly the same content? Would the search engines be confused?

Am I asking for way too much here? :V

...should I post this on another board for assistance? Or ask another site?

I'm going to move this to the javascript forum - I think you'll have a better chance of getting an answer there.
