    Hi everyone,
    I would really appreciate if anyone has any tips to help me with what I am trying to do:
    I have a website with a google map that is loaded with numerous icons.
    The icons are loaded onto the map from a database which specifies the names, lat,lng etc.
    The database is altered by a C++ program (only one db entry will change identified by the name.)
    If the db entry is changed I want the icon on the map to change. This I can achieve by running the script again and reloading/refreshing?? the div or page.
    I may be confusing the situation but here is where I am stuck.
    The map is loaded in a div:
    <div id="mapCanvas" style="width:100%; height:100%>
    <script src="/wordpress/wp-content/themes/MicroSense_child/enterprise/plugins/GoogleMap/AlertMap3.js">
    </script>

    I want to continuously read from the database (using JS and php) to check is the relevant data has changed. If it has I want to re-run the script.
    I tried using AJAX to achieve this using innerHtml but there is a problem with the script tags and from what I have read this will not cause the script to run.

    Please let me know if you have any ideas, I have been stuck on this problem for a while and would be very greatful for some direction.

    If you need any clarification of the problem or more information let me know.
    I appreciate any help,

    Maria
