    I was gonna do this but I figured heck that seems like a half-assed approach.

    Can I just make my page regular then at the end make it run on AJAX? Or do I have to code it from the start in a special way/

    That just looks like AJAX for the sake of AJAX. I haven't done much with AJAX, but the few times I have, I had it in mind from the start and built around that.

    AJAX is a tool that can be implemented in many different forms. What is it that you are trying to accomplish with AJAX? If you want to dynamically load each page into a main PHP template for the entire site, I'd suggest doing you research and planning for that from the start. That being said, it's not out of the question to write your entire site in plain html/css/php and copy&paste sections into your AJAX'd sections, it all depends on the extent of your needs. Can you be a little more specific?
