I am looking to use two images that when "mouse-overed" will cause the page to scroll up and down. Basically they will work just the same as the up and down arrows in every browsers scrollbar.

Now I know how to use CSS to make the scrollbars appear nicely but I specifically am looking to use these images.

If anybody could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

mayby i am misunderstanding you, but from my knowledge, what you are trying to do is not possible with javascript.

    Is that what you mean?
Or when you hover, scroll down, - move mouse, stop scroll?

I think he means something like those custom flash scrollbars where you mouse over the "^" (the up arrow) and the page (usually within a div or something like that) scrolls up and similarly scrolling down when you mouse over the "v" arrow. I have seen this done in a lot of places, but I'm not sure how to do it. I'm sure we could figure it out though. Do you have any code to start with ?

That page with the dude's head doesn't work in Firebird. The page starts scrolling as soon as it loads.

Depending on how it was integrated into a site that feature could either be funky or extremely annoying!

It could also be used to replace the scrollbar completely.... if implemented properly
