    Regarding the patents of Oracle

    Good afternoon! I accidentally read an article that Oracle filed a lawsuit (in 2010, if I'm not mistaken) towards Google, for patent infringement when creating the Android OS. I started studying Java and I do not know what exactly Google could have disrupted.
    The Java language is free for programmers and you can use it to write your own commercial projects. What exactly could disrupt the creation of the Android OS?
    Is there any limitation in using Java? What exactly does the patent cover?
    Java language can be used freely (for free) to write your own projects?
