    The site: http://depts.drew.edu/biol
    The code http://depts.drew.edu/biol/menu_array.js
Ok, so this looks good now on Mozilla, IE, Netscape and IEMac. Any ideas why it looks like bad on opera and Safari?

I've found that this page (http://www.quirksmode.org/) is super helpful when it comes to multi-browser coding (especially hybrid-coding), check it out and see if you can't find some help there.

    EDIT: forgot the link... oops

Well i can tell you that your horizontal nav bar is compressed into one word all the links are on top of eachother and therefore you cannot read it and the drop downs dont work. I didnt check out your code but i presume you have used CSS to align it...?

Well i would try using a table for your nav and if you qish use CSS to align each link in the center of its TD, JS wont affect the alignment thats just the drop down function.
