    1. Is there a way to retrieve the number of lines on the page? For example if the page was:

    hello there
    how are you today?
    I am ok, I hope you are too

    then the number of lines would be 3.

    2. How wide is a character? So I could so the following:

    inputbox.style.left = (width of a character) * (number of characters to the lef of it)

    1. Due to the nature of HTML there isn't a definite way; HTML "pages" are dynamic. But you can count the number of newline ("\n") characters in the document and use that as a basis.
    2. Not to my knowledge, however it is possible in PHP. You can specify the absolute height of text.

    2. I don't mean can u specify the width of a character, I just want to know how wide a character is.
