    on a redirect, you retrieve the data by using the querystring. On a
    post method submit, you retrieve the data by using the Form method.

    I have a page that is sometimes the object of a redirect and
    sometimes the object of a Form Post.

    Code:
    <input type=submit name='TotalPAT_ModfifyRecord' value='Modify
              Record' method='Post' action='TotalPat.asp'></input>

    ...

       strTemp0=request.querystring("PatHead")
       strTemp1 = request.form("TotalPAT_ModfifyRecord")
    response.write "strTemp0:" & strTemp0 & "@@@<P><P>"
    response.write "strTemp1:" & strTemp1 & "@@@<P><P>"
    is the button construction. When I call the page from redirection,
    the value for strTmep0 is what it is supposed to be and the value for
    strTemp1 is blank.

    When I click the submit button above, the value for strTemp0 is
    blank, but the value for strTemp1 is also blank. I thought that I
    should be able to see "Modify Record" ??????

    Turns out that you can use either or neither. Request('....') will return
    the value if any of 5 collections have the
    linked item:

    QueryString
    Form
    Cookies
    ClientCertificate
    ServerVariables

    it will search in that order. If you have the same variable in
    2 lists it will return the first one it meets. Kinda like
    searching the path string for a file under DOS.

    THere is, however, a significant time hit if you have to search thru a lot of variables.

    The querystring appears to be empty when the method is post/get and
    the Form list appears to be empty with the redirect.
