    Hi everyone,

Sorry if my subject doesn't make sense but I find it a bit tricky to explain, but here goes:

Lets say I have a site web products that has lets say an image, some information and maybe a file download.

Is is possible to make it so you upload an xml file (or any other file type) with the above information stored inside it to joomla, and then have joomla automatically take these infos and puts them in the right places?

the idea is to have an external source provide information that can be read and loaded strait into a joomla backend.

    Thanks!

    hope it makes somewhat sense.

    / Thomas

Are you using VirtueMart add-on for Joomla? I know it will allow you to use a csv file (spreadsheet) to input your products, but i don't know about xml.

Here is something that may help.
I will say that I have heard mixed reviews of Virtuemart.
I myself am developing an e-commerce site, but I am using OpenCart.

    Thanks,

I do not see Opencart having import options anywhere though ?

It seems there are no build in tool for importing XML files but! It can be done if you custom build one.

How ever is OpenCart based on Joomla?

OpenCart is not based on Joomla as far as I know.

You can go try a free online demo of OpenCart if you want.

There is an extension for OpenCart to let you bulk upload products in a csv file (made in Excel)
