    Joomla upgrade 1.8 to 3.3

    running joomla 1.8 and want to update to joomla 3.3. I changed folder permission to 777 but from joomla dashboard still shows modules and components unwrittable. can you please help how to upgrade.

    Honestely, you will face a nighmare if you are really serious about upgrading from 1.8 to 3.3
    Upgrading from 2.5 to 3.3 is already pain and it is hard to imagine a scenario where it is worth it.


    Do you have a large website?
    Can you share the link?

    There are a couple tools that will help.

    Thanks paolo. actually i have joomla 1.0. so no point to upgrade. will rebuild the site in wordp

    Yea no point to upgrade. I would recommend to download the latest version of Joomla if you want to stay with Joomla. I don't use WP but I think that joomla is more powerful and has greater support.
