    Joomla-Static HTML Site-Joomla Template

This is going to be a first for us. We're building a regular static html site and one page in the site needs to be a one page Joomla template.

Is this doable if we install Joomla on the site as the url for that one page only?

I promise I'm not crazy and this is not a woman thing, this is a client thing.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you need to make the Joomla install look like it's part of the static site. There's a couple of options here.

    1. You could just build the "static" site as pages in the Joomla site. This would be the easiest route, and would make it easily updatable for the client.

    2. URL redirects, I suppose. Here's a primer on that: https://www.addedbytes.com/articles/...for-beginners/

If you install Joomla in a separate folder from the main site, it's definitely doable. The question I have, and it's similar to Ron's...is why in the world anyone would want to do that.

Hi guys and thanks for your replies. Now here's one for you.
The girl that's designing this site asked the Joomla forum about this before she had talked to me about it and then I asked you guys about it.

She said she saw a reply yesterday and was going to answer it tonight. She goes to the forum and can't find her post so she logs in and get this in her face, The Board Admin contact reads like this..no_reply_forum@joomla.org.

You have been permanently banned from this board.

Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.

Reason given for ban: Spam Post about a Sale of Domain

A ban has been issued on your username.

We have NO domains for sale, never have and are not in the business of selling domains not even for our clients.

We have no way to contact the Admin and try to straighten this out.

Then I'd run screaming from this job. It might be a mistake, but it's highly unlikely that a Joomla forum mod or admin would ban someone for a spam post about a domain sale by accident. That is far too specific.

There's just too much weird, even in two posts.

I can assure anyone this girl has not spammed anyone. She builds Joomla sites on a daily basis and has been doing so for several years . Her question on the Joomla forum had nothing to do with a domain name nor the sale of a domain name. I'm the one that told her to ask the question, basically the same question I asked on here and I saw her post on the Joomla forum and an answer to it. Being Christmas she was busy yesterday and was going to reply to the answer tonight when this happened to her.

We had a person join their forum tonight and will contact a moderator tomorrow and ask about this issue. She's also excellent with Drupal and asked me if she could contact our Joomla clients and build their sites in Drupal with their permission and I told her to go for it.

Happy New Year!..and don't get into trouble lol.
