41 years old, extensive career in computers repairs and ink and tone refills, i picked up interest lately in web design, but the thing is the more you read the more you are lost, i know some xhtml and css now but where to go from here is some kind of a challenge. do i have to follow a track like javascript for pages behaviour or something else? server side? is it php? or phyton django? or java? i hope i can find some answers in here.
and i hope i can contribute to this lovely community as much as i will take from it.

    Welcome, namesake!
Now that you know HTML/CSS, you can start building sites, because that's the best way to learn. Sneak some JavaScript here and there, and then dive into server-side languages, like PHP.

I just want to know where you were a few hours ago when my MFP ran out of ink and I had to go to Staples to get the replacement.

And I'd work in a server-side language and Javascript simultaneously. Code something in the server-side language that works, then use Javascript for additional functionality.
