My name is Nate and I am 30 years old. I am a student at the University of Phoenix and I have recently obtained my Associate's Degree in IT and am working on my Bachelor's in Web Development. I have learned a lot through my own research but I know I have years of learning to go before I unlock my full potential. I really need a mentor and since I do not have one I have nobody I can ask for help, well I have a teacher who helps me when she can.
Anyway I have this website I am working on and I think it is decent for my first one and the customer loves it. My problem is that I cannot get the gap after my header on my Breakfast and Lunch pages to disappear and it looks tacky, which is why I have not uploaded it yet. Can someone please check my work out and give me some feedback and help with that? I would appreciate any help! Thanks

Nate - it's unlikely that anyone here will download a file from someone they don't know.

Is there any way you can upload it somewhere - like to a dev folder, so we can see the site and the code online?

Well, how were you going to upload it in the first place?

I wanted to upload it just like I did on this site before I uploaded it to the internet looking ragedy. What is a dev folder? If you can tell me what to do so you can look at it and everyone else too, I will do it. Sorry, I am not trying to be difficult.

Okay.

I was looking at your code. And i tell you what. For a newbie at the Webdevelopment side its very clean Well done keep it up.

A good tip for you: When you design a website its always always always a good idea to make sure your template is correct before building the other pages (its easier to debug issues)

What ive done for you (which i dont usually do for everyone but am feeling generous ^^) is rebuild the site structure so it works with all browsers and all screen sizes. See attached.

If you look at the code, from my point of view its easier to build the site correctly. Check out both the index.html and the css template and link items like H1 and H2 together.

Also its not a good idea to use paragraphs for your left nav, ive corrected it for you. Its now UL and LI google that for ideas on how to manipulate it correctly.

You will need to add all the content again to the site as I haven't done that. But only do that once your completely happy with the template looks and layout

one last thing. When you add images to the site make sure you add them to sub folders within the images folder...This is just for organisational purposes.

If you need any help feel free to private message me.

Nate = I meant if you were going to upload to a server with FTP, you could make a subfolder of your site and call it dev (for development, but shorter and easier to type), and then upload to that - that way anyone wanting to see the site would have to know about the dev folder to type it into the address bar after the domain name.
