Hi every one, i'm the newbie.

My name is Neil Blackall, and i live in Bradford UK. I have just recently found that the internet offers people a way out of the rat race.

I am new to web design and building web pages full stop, so any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I have created a website, www .coversforbeanbags .co. uk, [ Edit: link removed as per forum rules. AlphaMare] it is very basic, but it is a affiliate site, i do not know any one with a established site to link to mine, so it is taking some time to get ranked. again any help would be very welcome. It seems everywhere i look on the net people want to charge money for a link, is this standard? or are they trying to pray on the weak?

At the minute i am using tables to create my site, through seamonkey, i have been told that cascading style sheets are the way forward, could anybody point me in the right direction?

OK, Thanks for reading this post and i look forward to any reply's

Welcome to the forums. I suggest reading the Forum Rules as its a good overview of do's and don'ts on the forum. ( such as don't post links until you have 25 posts)

You would be better off posting specific questions to the appropriate forums - for example, ask about links in the SEO forum (be prepared to have your eyes opened about links and their relevance) and about CSS vs tables for layout in the HTML and CSS forum.

Other than that, hope you enjoy your stay and can benefit from anything we can help with

If you feel that someone's post helped you fix your problem, answered your question, or just made you feel better, feel free to "Like" their post. The "Like" link is at the bottom right of each post, along side the "reply" link. And if you are being helped here, try to help someone else - pass it on!
