    I want something that sends the download but that doesn't show up the URL of the file anywhere.
    I've seen this in places like download.com

    You can code it with fpassthru. The PHP.net docs even have an example!

    Ah yes, that works too. One problem that you may encounter (I am not sure if I am correct about this one) is that the file path is given as a URL. I know some webservers block that, and so the solution may not work on all servers.

    But if Ethan's solution works, then who's complaining?
