Anybody know of any PHP-based web mail systems that are:
    1. free
    2. Work with a catch-all (see http://www.hivemail.com/ 's system requirements for what I mean)
    3. shown to be secure
    4. Somewhat easily skinnable

I'm not sure about it being skinable, but both of the webhosts that I use provide me with www.horde.org , which is written under the GNU public license.

It's pretty well set up, I can set you up with a test account on my server if you want to log in and check it out.

My host has it too (kinda ugly if the skin I have is the default one). Will check it out.

Ugh, naturally, like anything under the GPL, it looks insanely complicated to use. Any other ideas?

The skin itself is a little dark, but my university has gone through a number of webmail programs, and they are all pretty awful compared to this one. Our current one set us back a few grand too.

Squirrel Mail seems to be recommended lately (including at HM). Haven't looked into it. Is HiveMail to expensive?
