A quick question for the knowledgable...

Can you achieve the same effect in php that you can with Javascript alert()?

If so, what is the coding for this? I am trying to learn php and rewriting some JS code into php (helps me learn) but I can't find how to have a message box pop up.

    Thanks

Javascript is client side, php is server side.

Javascript runs on the users browser. Php runs on the server and the results are passed back to the browser.

The javascript alert box is client side, so therefore php couldn't do that. You could fake it with a forced pop up window or div layer, but not a javascript alert box.
