    Hi guys

    I've been trying to put together a small paypal cart for a client, and I'm having some trouble with the paypal pdt/ipn system. From what I understand, pdt will send a unique id token "tx" as a query string to the return url when the customer is redirected back from paypal, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

    I'm just using the "buy it now" button code generated from the paypal site. I've been told that pdt may not be supported by the simple purchase button, but from the docs I don't see how else it can be done.

    Return url and pdt has been activated in the paypal merchant preferences. I don't see what is wrong and I'd appreciate any help.

    Currently the return url looks like
    Code:
    www.root_url.com/payment_complete.php?=Return+To+Merchant
    I guess I should be expecting something like

    Code:
    www.root_url.com/payment_complete.php?tx=xxxxx
    here is my button code:
    Code:
    <form name="_xclick" action="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
    <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick">
    <input type="hidden" name="business" value="email@email.com">
    <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD">
    <input type="hidden" name="no_shipping" value="1">
    <input type="hidden" name="return" value="root_url.com/payment_complete.php">
    ...php stuff...
    <input type=\"hidden\" name=\"item_name\" value=\"$name\">
    <input type=\"hidden\" name=\"amount\" value=\"$price\">
    </form>
    Thanks again for any help

    i know this might now help your problem a lot but i've been using this ipn to interact with paypal and it works really well, seems very secure and tracks all your sales and products. you can set up a buy now, a shopping cart and provide free downloads. plus you can email specific customers.

    i know you are looking for a solution to your code but this might be less of a hassle and more secure and save you some time...
