    Hey,

I am about to go into my Honours year of University, and our last year will primarily focus on internet programming.

My knowledge of PHP lays mainly in database interaction, so I was wondering if anyone can show me some tutorials, or source code of something "networky" done in PHP.

Kinda vague, but worth a shot..

Here's the library you'll probably use: http://us2.php.net/sockets . Many servers don't have it enabled for security reasons. PHP itself isn't good as a language for network programming (meaning direct network streams) especially because it can't multithread, and it's common to want to run a request in a separate thread.
