MediaWiki or nothing. From an end-user perspective, every other Wiki I've ever used has been pure garbage.

The newest version requires PHP 5 which scores big points with me. It's about time people abandon several-year-old PHP 4.

I've never personally set it up, although I've been meaning to play with it at some point. If it's like most PHP scripts, all you'll need to do is set up a MySQL database, edit a configuration file that MediaWiki provides with the database's username/password/name, and then run some installation script.

MySQL is a database; it has nothing to do with files (okay, technically, yes, it stores everything in files, but that's a completely transparent process).

Will you be installing this on your own computer, or using third-party hosting?
