    Hi,

I'm using a premade shopping cart (X-Cart) and they say that port 1129 needs to be open for inbound and outbound connections, for payments to go through. I told this to our webhosting company and they keep giving me these answers that I really don't understand. I guess it needs to be more in laymen's terms. All I want to know is if the freaking port is open for inbound and outbound connection. This is what they have replied:

There is no software or hardware firewall configured on or in front of the server, 66.40.10.157. So there is nothing blocking inbound and outbound connection to / from this server. Are there any specific, technical error messages that display on your screen or in the log files of this website? Is there a URL, username and password that you can provide us for testing? Even a test case explaining what it is you do up to the point where it is not working?
When they say "There is nothing blocking inbound and outbound connections to / from the server", is that equivalent to saying that port 1129 is OPEN?

    Thanks,
    Heather :dead: :dead: :dead:

    In one word... yes.

They are basically saying that there are no ports closed on your server meaning that you should be able to use any application that uses any port.

    Does your cart work?

No, I can't get the credit card transactions to work :dead:
I have tried EVERYTHING, there's a step-by-step guide to getting it to work, and I went through the WHOLE thing. But I always get an error when trying to process a credit card. It's just some general error too. "Please contact merchant services" :dead:
