    Hey guys,
I'm starting work on a website for a ranch, where people rent the entire house, and the ranch for the weekend. They want a website that will have an availability screen where by someone could easily update the chart to refelct actual availability at the property, but doesn't need to be the type of system where people can actually book the rooms. I'm not sure if this is the right category to be posting this, but I figured you guys would move it to wherever it needs to be.

I found a couple systems you can buy from companies, but it seemed pretty expensive, and I was looking for something basic that I could customize to the color scheme and such.

Also, if theres a resource you guys use for looking up hard to find, free scripts, thats cool too. Thanks,
    Chris

So, you want to show which rooms are available and which are occupied? Is this done on a day to day business, or could someone check if a particular room is free in say a months time?

You could assign each room/ranch with a unique identifier and when a particular room/ranch is requested, you update a text file to say "Booked" or such.

well they basically want to sell this house all together to groups of 10-15 ppl, so theres really only one "entity" that is being sold, or booked. The client just wants a visual calandar that they can adjust to show prospective guests what days are occupied, what days aren't. It wouldn't be tied into any reservation type system back at the property or anything like that. They would ultimately call the place to book the house, and then once someone did that, the operators of the property could go in and mark those dates "occupied" or "unoccupied".

Incorporate one of those free online calendars, they can log-in and
update it themselves. Like this ... http://www.calendars.net/

Writing your own script of course, is possible, but will take a bit of time.
