Now that I have gd library working () I wanna know if I can save the images I create as having the server create them every time is a waste.

How would I go about saving the images I create as .jpg/gif/png/etc?

You can't write GIFs in GD 1.6+ due to Compuserve's arrogant hold on the license for the .gif format. In the others, it's usually a second argument (for example, imagejpg($im, $filename, $quality)).

How do you get the gd set up? I found some kewl tutorials on it, and wanted to try it out, but my web host didn't know how to set it up.

If your host doesn't know how to set it up then they're pretty idiotic (offense intended towards them ). I suggest you find a new host ASAP.

Yeah... let's put it this way - it took me 3 hours to get gd working on my windows testing server... (reinstalled everything from ground up server-wise). I'm fairly certain gd library will not work on IIS. I tried.

Ahh cool... I guess I overlooked that... f*ck gifs anyway, jpg will give me better file size for what I'm doing...
